Riding through the Country / More Wildfires

David and I rode through Fort Davis on April 5, before the wildfires. It was a lovely mild-weather day and a beautiful ride. We made it home just before sunset and the arrival of a cool front. We haven't been through this area past Fort Davis since the fires to see how this pretty rest area fared.

Another wildfire (the date on the photo is wrong). Three are burning in this region of Texas, actually, and one of them is currently a couple of miles west of Alpine. Officials are calling it the Holland Gage Fire because of its location of origin. David is, as I type this, passing out food and drinks to evacuees. One of the fires burns near Marathon and the other is near Sanderson.
