"I also have in mind that seemingly wealthy, but terribly impoverished class of all, who have accumulated dross, but know not how to use it, or get rid of it, and thus have forged their own golden or silver fetters.” —Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)

Pray for Wretha & Others in the Wildfire's Path
Many friends and area neighbors are in the path of a raging and totally uncontained wildfire. Please wrap your arms around them now. Thank you.
Frann, if you can, will you tell your fellow Hammers that David (he's the Food Bank-Alpine manager) is coming in the food bank truck as fast he can with food, water, etc.? Gotta run to go help out. Thanks! Gwen
My heart hurts...God bless. Thank you and God bless you David and Gwen. Let me know what I can do.... We have friends that have lost their home and don't know it yet. Pray for them.
Thanks G and everyone, we are doing just fine, the wind turned today and we got smoked out, but just smoke, no fire, by the time the sun went down it was pretty much cleared out. We all thank God for sparing us, it would have been bad if the fire had gotten here, it would have been difficult for the fire dept to control it because of the terrain and the roads out here.
We have power and phone service now, but still no internet, our local internet out of Alpine is down, I'm using my neighbor's satellite internet.
We are all praying for rain. I haven't been out and about since this all started, I have seen some of the pictures on line, it's very sad, especially about the animals.
I know that you busy with the relive effort and don't want to take up your time today. However; when you have time would give a update on how everthing is around Fort Davis area? We sure like that area. Thank You

I have been listening to fire reports all afternoon on HAM radio. I think the worst of it is by Miter Peak.

I think west Texas in general has fires popping up everywhere. Some areas are being evacuated.
Oh no! I will keep them in my prayers. Blessings, Joanne
Praying for everyone in the fire's path. Some rain would be welcome.
