"New Survival Seed Bank Lets you Plant a Full Acre Crisis Garden!"

If you have the time, please tell me what you think of this advertisement that I saw on the Mother Earth News website.

I'm not affiliated with this company in any way. I do have some seeds put away but not close to enough. I haven't gardened in very long time until this spring... at least I'm attempting to have a garden, but it's slow going. I'm re-learning, though, and that was my goal. I remember when, years ago, Mom could save the seeds from a watermelon or cucumber, plant a few next season and have a crop.

I still have family here so I'm way behind on reading my favorite blogs. I'm having a fabulous time with the girls and grandson. On the other hand, I'm looking forward to catching up. I keep a daily gratitude list. It's quick - just 5 things a day - and I add to it every morning. Along with gratitude for my wonderful and healthy daughters and grandson, "reading my favorite blogs" is frequently on that list.

Glad you are enjoying the fun of the visit...and glad you are getting back into the gardening!

Gonna have to have some raised beds in the desert, I think. But no big problem...could use old tires!

Can't wait for the move...

Hi Jim! Thanks for the comment. I believe raised beds are the only way to go. Tires are plentiful, too. Congratulations on getting your plans finalized for the move!

i think i heard about Survival Seed Bank on the old Art Bell show- Coast to Coast AM i think they call it, now hosted by George Noory?? the best seed prices ive seen were by Jordan Seeds and also DeBruyn Seed is decent...the prices at Jordan Seeds were a little higher in 2009 but i think that was because of the spike in gas prices we had in 2008, so im hoping their 2010 prices will be terrific again...just to give an example in 2008 you could buy Pea Seed from them for $1.00 - $1.25 per pound, and many things like lettuce, beets, radishes you could buy at about $3.00-$3.50 a pound...the prices were so cheap i just bought about 1/4 lb or more of just about everything...they have a no frills catalog and i think they sell a lot of seed to market farmers- hopefully their 2010 prices will be back to what i usually see from them as its so nice to buy 4 oz. of seed for the same price that id normally get a lousy packet in the store....
